UNF Takes Series with FAU to Climb into Tie for First

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida’s Matt Oxendine went 5-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, and the Ospreys jumped out to a six-run lead in the first inning, to help fuel a 13-3 win over Florida Atlantic in Atlantic Sun Conference baseball action on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
With the win, UNF (15-12, 8-4 A-Sun) took two out of three games in the weekend series and moved back into a tie for first place atop the conference standings. FAU (13-14, 3-6 A-Sun) – the preseason conference favorite – has now lost two of its three league series.
UNF jumped ahead 6-0 in the first inning with six singles, including run-scoring hits by Travis Martin, Jonathan Hodach and Jon Dandridge. The Ospreys added another run in the fourth, three more in the sixth, one in the seventh and two in the eighth to round out their scoring.
