BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of North Florida avoided a three-game sweep by No. 17 LSU as the Ospreys earned a 4-3 win on the strength of a Brandon Diaz sacrifice fly in top of the 10th inning on Sunday at Alex Box Stadium.

The win snapped a three-game UNF losing streak, while helping the Ospreys avoid a 1-4 start for the first time in program history. The win also improved UNF's record against SEC schools to 3-3 all-time.

"There's no question this is a big win for our program," UNF head coach Dusty Rhodes said. "LSU is always a tough program and this year they are right there with the elite teams in the nation. This is a tough place to get a win, but we knew coming in that we could compete at this level. This is a great win for our guys and for our university."
