LUBBOCK, Texas - Stetson's senior lefthander, Chris Ingoglia, threw six shutout innings to seal a season-opening series win against Southern Illinois. He struck out eight batters, walked just two and allowed only four singles in helping the Hatters to a 3-0 win Sunday afternoon. After allowing two base runners in the second inning, he set down 10 of the next 11. It was his first start of 2007 and improved his lifetime record at Melching Field at Conrad Park to 16-2.

Ingoglia was named Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the week on Feb. 12 by the conference office. The Hatters have won 3 of their first 4 games and host LSU this weekend in DeLand.
