Macon, Ga. – Stetson outfielder, Shane Jordan, has been named the Player of the Week for the second time in his career. Stetson right-handed pitcher, Corey Kluber, has been named the Pitcher of the Week, keeping the award at Stetson for the second week in a row.

Shane Jordan (Sr. - OF – Sarasota, Fla. – Management Major): In four games, Jordan batted .667 (10-for-15) with 3 RBI, two doubles, one triple, and was 3-3 in stolen base attempts. He posted .737 OBP with two walks and two HBP. Jordan scored 9 runs in the 4 games. Stetson was 3-1 on the week with a series win over LSU.

Corey Kluber (Jr.- RHP – Coppell, Texas - Sports Management Major): Kluber won his Friday night match-up with LSU by throwing 6 2/3 innings with 9 strikeouts. He allowed just one run on three singles and two walks and at one point set down 11 Tigers in a row. For the season Kluber is 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 11 2/3 IP. He’s allowed 6 hits, 4 walks and a .146 batting average.

Coming into the 2007 season Jordan (pictured below) ranked 8th in school history in career hits (246) and stolen bases (66) and 10th in runs scored (170). In 2006 he was named to A-Sun Conference All-Tournament Team and ranked 4th in A-Sun stolen bases, 7th in runs scored and 10th in hits. Jordan was named to the Preseason All-Conference team. He was a member of the 2005 postseason All-Conference second team.

In 2006, Kluber ranked second in the A-Sun in opponent’s batting average, 8th in ERA and innings pitched (92.1), and 9th in strikeouts (76).

The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Player and Pitcher of the Week awards weekly during the 2007 baseball season.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.

Jacob Robbins, KSU (So. – SS – Calhoun, Ga. – Business Major)
Had 12 hits in 20 at-bats and recorded three RBI and a .670 slugging pct. He also extended his hit streak to 26 games.

Josh Thompson, Mercer (Sr. – C – Pineview, Ga. – MBA)
6-for-13 (.462), eight RBIs, four runs scored, two home runs, one double, one triple, .632 On-Base Pct., 1.154 Slugging Pct.

Matt Gardner, Jacksonville (Jr. – SP – Livermore, Calif. – Sociology Major)
For the week, Gardner went 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA, six strikeouts, two walks and a .213 opponent batting average in 12 innings.

Charles Lee, Belmont (Sr. – RHP – Brentwood, Tenn. – Accounting Major)
Started season opener allowing one single in five innings and held Bradley to a .063 batting average He had five strikeouts and no walks.

Brandon Langston, ETSU (Jr. – RHP – Ringgold, Ga. – Interdisciplinary Studies Major)
Earned first win of his career in Friday’s series opener against Niagara, striking out 7 batters in 6 innings of work and allowing just one ER.
