Lipscomb at ETSU
Johnson City, Tenn.

Lipscomb heads to Johnson City to take on the first-place Bucs. ETSU and Stetson are both 10-2 in A-Sun play. Lipscomb is coming off a series win at Mercer. The Bisons had lost 9 of 11 entering last week so they hope to continue their solid play from last week (3-1). The Bucs swept Kennesaw State for their second sweep in A-Sun play this season to finish the past week 3-1 as well. The Buccaneers have won 5 of their past 7. In other match ups, JU and Belmont both travel to play a #1 ranked team in Florida State and Vanderbilt.

A-Sun Player of the Week
Justin Bass, Stetson (Jr. - 1B - DeLand, Fla. - Sports Marketing)
Bass led the Hatters to 4-0 week, including double digit runs in all four games, by batting .706 (12-for-17) with 12 runs scored and 7 RBI. He swatted two doubles, a triple, and a home run for 19 total bases and a 1.119 slugging percentage. He also walked twice and was hit by a pitch for a .750 on-base percentage. Bass reached in 15 of his last 17 plate appearances, including all five times on Saturday against Gardner-Webb.

A-Sun Pitcher of the Week
Rex Brothers, Lipscomb (Fr. - LHP - Chapel Hill, Tenn. - Undecided)
Brothers, a freshman left-hander, ran his record to 6-1 with a 7-2 win at Mercer Saturday. He pitched eight innings, giving up four hits, two runs, one earned, while striking out 11 batters. Mercer entered the match up striking out less than every A-Sun team except Belmont. The Bears were also second in the conference in home runs. For the season Brothers is 6-1 with a 3.53 ERA.

Stetson Recognized Nationally
The Stetson University baseball team remains in the Rivals.com Top 25, moving up to No. 19. It is the highest ranking of the year for the Hatters, who boast a 27-9 record and are tied for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Stetson also remained the Ping! Baseball Top 30, moving up three spots to No. 24, entered the NCBWA poll at No. 30, and continued to receive votes in the USA Today/Coaches Poll According to their formula, boydsworld.com lists Stetson with the 13th best RPI in the country.

ETSU is Rollin'

The Bucs are off to their best conference start since 1980. That team finished 14-1 in the Southern Conference.
