Macon, Ga. - The Campbell Fighting Camels stunned the No. 2 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 7-5 in eleven innings in Chapel Hill N.C. on Tuesday night. The Lipscomb Bisons were also in an upset mood. Lipscomb beat No. 1 ranked Vanderbilt 5-3 at Dugan Field in Nashville, Tenn.

The Tar Heels are ranked No. 2 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Vanderbilt is ranked No. 1 by Baseball America, the NCBWA, and in the Coaches Top 25 Poll.

The Atlantic Sun is no stranger to beating top-ranked teams. Mercer defeated the University of Miami twice in February when the Hurricanes were ranked No. 2 in the nation. Jacksonville knocked off the No. 1 ranked Florida State Seminoles on March 21.

Stetson entered this week nationally ranked in all the major polls. The Hatters were ranked as high as No. 18. The Atlantic Sun currently sports seven teams with a record above .500. As a league, the A-Sun is 13th out of 31 conferences in RPI heading into this week.

The Atlantic Sun has sent at least two representatives to NCAA Regional play in each of the past eight years, including three teams in four of the past seven years.
