Cory Gearrin has come a long way since his professional baseball debut. That was last summer, on June 27 in Elizabethton, Tenn. Fresh off a superb junior season at Mercer, Gearrin was drafted in the fourth round by the Atlanta Braves, who sent him to their Single-A team in Danville, Va.

Former Lipscomb catcher Caleb Joseph has been named to the Class A All-Star team as a member of the Fredrick Keys, the advanced Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Joseph has batted .300 or better each month of the season.
