Wednesday, January 21, 2009 KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's legendary head baseball coach Mike Sansing, was honored by the Georgia Dugout Club as he was inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame on Saturday in a ceremony at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel. "I am excited to have my name associated with the Georgia Dugout Club," said Sansing after the induction ceremony. "It is a great group of coaches that have done so much for amateur baseball in the state." Sansing enjoyed the morning ceremony accompanied by his mother, his sister, his wife and their two sons before being celebrated with a surprise affair hosted on campus at the Bobbie Bailey Athletic Complex on Saturday evening. Honored in recognition of his tremendously impressive collegiate coaching career that is entering its 20th year, Sansing stood by as longtime assistant coach and close friend Ryan Coe introduced Sansing in an emotional tribute. The former two-time All-American mentioned how his life has been changed by his former coach, colleague and friend. "This is a great honor for Coach Sansing and long overdue," said Coe, who played two seasons for Sansing in the mid-nineties. "He means a lot more to us than numbers. He's a decent person who deeply cares for his family, players, coaches, associates and friends." |
