Sunday, April 05, 2009 NASHVILLE, TENN. - The Belmont baseball team (17-13, 10-5 Atlantic Sun) won both of its contests against Jacksonville (19-10, 9-6 A-Sun) in a doubleheader at Shelby Park in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday. The Bruins won the first contest, 12-7, and earned a 15-10 win in the second game. Freshman Dylan Craig (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) was able to gain at least one hit in each contest to extend his hitting streak to a career-long 21 games. In the second contest, junior Daniel Wagner hit two home runs in the same inning, the bottom of the second, in consecutive at-bats for the first time of his career. The Bruins have now won four of their last five contests, including two out of three over Jacksonville and a victory over Vanderbilt on Apr. 1. |
