Monday, July 27, 2009 BOSTON, Mass. – FGCU starter Chris Sale (Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox) was named the Pitching MVP for the Cape Cod League all-Star game after his one inning, no-hit performance on Thursday night at Fenway Park. After a 22-year absence, the Cape Cod League all-star game returned to Fenway. More than 13,000 fans were in attendance for the league's home run hitting contest and all-star game, which the West team won 3-0 in a game shortened to four and a half innings due to rain. The FGCU lefthander dominated the West Division hitters, and needed just six pitches (five for strikes) to throw a perfect third. |
