Wednesday, May 05, 2010 FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University junior Chris Sale (Lakeland, Fla.) was named to the Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll produced by CollegeBaseball360.com on Tuesday. Sale moved the FGCU baseball team past No. 23 Clemson, 4-2, Saturday evening in Clemson, S.C at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Fresh off an FGCU record setting 15-strikeout outing, the Lakeland, Fla. native posted another noteworthy performance in the game one start. Improving his record to 7-0 on the year with the win, the junior lefty went eight full innings and allowed just two earned runs on four hits, with 10 strikeouts against the nationally ranked Tigers. On the season, Sale owns 103 strikeouts with just 11 walks in 75 innings pitched. He has a 2.16 earned run average and has limited opponents to a .215 batting average during his 12 appearances, including 11 starts. Sale was part of CollegeBaseball360.com’s eleventh installment of Primetime Performers for action from April 26-May 2. Florida senior centerfielder Matt den Dekker was named the Primetime Player of the Week, while Oregon fifth-year senior right-hander Justin LaTempa was the CB360 Primetime Pitcher of the Week.
