ATLANTA, Ga. - Thomas Carroll collected three hits including a three-run homer as Mercer breezed past Elon 13-7 in an elimination game at the NCAA Atlanta Regional.

The Bears (38-23) offense shook off their nerves in day two of the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance, pounding out 18 hits. Seven different Bears posted multi-hit days in the rout. In addition to Carroll's great day, designated hitter Tyler McCarty went 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Mercer scored 10 runs in the first four innings to take complete control of the game.

Atlantic Sun All-Tournament selection David Teasley appeared in his sixth straight post-season game and earned the win with 1.2 innings of one-hit relief to improve to 6-1 on the season. Elon (38-24) starter Ken Ferrer fell to 9-6 after surrendering seven runs in 3.0 innings of work.

Mercer will face the loser of Saturday's match-up between No. 8 Georgia Tech and Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm at Russ Chandler Stadium.
