MACON, Ga. - In the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft, 18 Atlantic Sun Conference Student-Athletes heard their names called including four from Mercer, which led the A-Sun. Stetson, FGCU, and ETSU all had three players drafted. The 18 players drafted from the A-Sun is tied for the third-most since 2000.

Mercer's Jacob Tanis became the first A-Sun student-athlete taken in the draft when the Oakland Athletics called his name in the 13th Round with the 406th pick. In total eight players were drafted in day two, while 10 were taken on the final day. Jacksonville had two student-athletes drafted, while UNF, Campbell and Kennesaw State each had one.
