Friday, January 27, 2012 MACON, Ga. - Three Atlantic Sun Baseball Student-Athletes appeared in the Power Rankings compiled by Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game USA. Jacksonville's Adam Brett Walker took second on the first baseman list, while Kennesaw State's Ronnie Freeman earned the four spot for collegiate catchers. Stetson's Ben Carhart landed ninth in the third baseman rankings. On the field in 2011, Walker led the A-Sun with a .409 batting average, 99 hits and 23 doubles in helping the Dolphins reach the NCAA regionals for the fourth time in the last six seasons. He also paced the squad with 13 home runs, 75 RBI, 165 total bases and a .685 slugging percentage. His hits and total bases totals each broke single-season records for the program. During the 2011 campaign, Freeman batted .392 while hitting safely in a Kennesaw State record 42 consecutive games, fourth all time in Division I, as he earned a second team all-conference section for his efforts. The native of Lawrenceville, Ga., was among the conference leaders in every offensive category as he also posted a .622 slugging percentage and .487 on-base percentage. His statistics went beyond the A-Sun as he was ranked 26th in the NCAA in doubles with 20. Carhart had a .323 batting average as a junior with seven home runs and 63 RBI in helping to lead the Hatters to a 43-20 overall record and a berth in the Columbia (SC) Regional where they played to the final day against eventual national champion South Carolina.
