Mitchell and Moore Capture A-Sun Baseball Honors

MACON, Ga. – Belmont's Zac Mitchell batted an outstanding .647 on the week, while North Florida's Tyler Moore earned a win and two saves in three appearances for the Ospreys as the duo took home the Atlantic Sun Baseball weekly honors, announced Monday by the league office.

  • First Career A-Sun Player of the Week award
  • Batted .647 on the week with 11 hits and 11 runs scored
  • Added three doubles, a triple and one home run
  • Totaled four RBI and 19 total bases
  • Helped Head Coach Dave Jarvis capture 400th career win at Belmont
  • Dan Gulbransen (OF, Jacksonville) - Drove in four runs with five hits including two doubles
  • Jordan Stampler (3B, USC Upstate) - Helped Spartans to a 3-0 week by batting .385 with four RBI and three runs scored
  • Ben Carhart (3B, Stetson) - Hit .556 with five runs scored and five RBI; led Hatters to 3-1 week
  • Joe Wielbruda (2B, North Florida) - Recorded multi-hit games in all four contests on the week
  • Clinton Freeman (1B, ETSU) - Went 6-for-11 in series win vs. Indiana with a double and home run

  • First Career A-Sun Pitcher of the Week
  • Made three appearances on the week and posted a 0.00 ERA
  • Earned victory on Thursday vs. Georgia Southern in 0.2 innings of work
  • Tossed 1.1 innings on Friday allowing no hits to earn first collegiate save
  • Capped week with 2.1 innings on Sunday allowing one hit for second save of the weekend and career
  • Brandon Love (LHP, Mercer) - Went eight strong innings at High Point with seven strikeouts and allowing only six hits
  • John Long (RHP, ETSU) - Earned third victory of the season with complete game in win vs. Indiana
  • David Palladino (SP, USC Upstate) - Allowed just five hits in seven innings of work vs. Georgia State; added seven strikeouts in the win
  • Josh Powers (SP, Stetson) - Pitched five shutout innings in college debut vs. Bethune-Cookman for first win
  • Chase Brookshire (SP, Belmont) - Allowed no runs and only one hit in six innings of action vs Butler
