#ASunBSB Honors: Dewees Sets Record; Kyle Blanks Hatters

MACON, Ga. - For the second-straight week, North Florida earned the Atlantic Sun Baseball Player of the Week honor with Donnie Dewees claiming the accolade, while Kennesaw State's Kevin Kyle captured his first career A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award.

Dewees set the Ospreys' program record with three triples in a single game as he accomplished the feat vs. ETSU on Thursday, while Kyle hurled a complete-game shutout vs. Stetson on Saturday to give the Owls the series victory.

  • First Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; third for UNF this season
  • Tallied four multi-hit games on the week including four hits vs. ETSU on Thursday
  • Totaled 11 base knocks in 20 at-bats; amassed 11 RBI with seven extra-base hits
  • Secured four doubles and three triples; all three triples came against ETSU on Friday
  • Added seven RBI in Friday contest
  • Batted .550 on the week with a slugging percentage of 1.050
  • Andrew Green (OF, ETSU) - Recorded two multi-hit games vs. North Florida on Thursday and Friday
  • Tyler Selesky (IF, FGCU) - Batted .500 for the week as Eagles went 3-1 with a win vs. South Florida
  • Derrick Workman (OF, Mercer) - Recorded a RBI in all five Mercer games to finish the week with nine
  • Trey Richardson (INF/C, USC Upstate) - Hit .438 in four games last week with three multi-hit games
  • Kal Simmons (SS, Kennesaw State) - Extended his team lead in RBI to 23; recorded a hit in all four KSU games

  • First Career Pitcher of the Week honor; first for KSU this season
  • Pitched a four-hit complete game shutout in 4-0 win vs. Stetson
  • Road shutout gave Kennesaw State the series victory vs. the Hatters
  • Struck out three batters with no walks allowed
  • Picked up his fourth straight victory of the season to improve to 5-2
  • Lowered ERA to 2.40 and opposing batting average to .223
  • Ricky Knapp (RHP, FGCU) - Picked up another victory on the season with 6.2 innings vs. Lipscomb in 8-0 win
  • Kerry Doane (RHP/IF, ETSU) - Tossed his fifth complete game in last six starts with a 7-5 win vs. North Florida
  • Brandon Barker (RHP, Mercer) - Went seven innings and allowed no earned runs on only three hits with eight strikeouts
  • Hunter Brothers (RHP, Lipscomb) - Led Bisons to first-ever road win vs. FGCU; struck out six batters in seven innings
  • Chad Sobotka (RHP, USC Upstate) - Tossed 3.2 innings of relief work without allowing a hit; earned a save vs. NKU
