ETSU Walks-Off Into #ASunBSB Championship Sunday

DELAND, Fla. - ETSU centerfielder Andrew Green connected on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat USC Upstate 4-3 in day four of the 2013 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship on Saturday.

The victory cements the Buccaneers (35-22; 17-10) in the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship Final. USC Upstate (28-30; 9-18) now falls out of the tournament having already lost to Mercer in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday.

ETSU pitcher Will Chesney entered in the ninth inning with the game knotted at 3-3. Chesney closed out the game without allowing a hit and improves to 4-2 on the season.

Second Team All-Conference, Chad Sobotka entered on the mound for Upstate in the eighth inning to give up the winning run and only one hit. Sobotka falls to 1-5 this year.

The Bucs third baseman Alex Reynolds picked up his fourth RBI of the tournament in the bottom of the fourth inning to put his team on the board. He then added his fifth RBI in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game up at 3-3. Reynolds finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Green ended 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Upstate shortstop Brody Greer and first baseman Trey Richardson led the Spartans at the plate. Greer put his team on the board first with a RBI single to right field in the top of the first. He finished 1-for-5, while Richardson ended 2-for-4 with a double.

No. 4 ETSU awaits either No. 3 North Florida or No. 7 Kennesaw State in the championship final, which can be seen on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.
