DeLand, Fla. - The San Diego Padres selected Stetson University pitcher Corey Kluber 134th, and the Atlanta Braves took pitcher Cory Gearrin 138th in the 4th Round of the Major League Baseball 2007 First Year Player Draft Thursday night.

Kluber posted a 12-2 record and 2.05 ERA in 17 starts for the Hatters.

This marks the second consecutive year a Hatter has been drafted in the 4th round. Chris Johnson was selected by the Houston Astros in the 4th round of the 2006 Draft.

Kluber, a junior from Coppell, Texas, served as Stetson's No. 1 starter. He was the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year and a second team all-american. In his last start he picked up the Hatters only win in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, throwing seven shutout innings against Bethune-Cookman.

Cory Gearrin jumped on the map early this year when his Mercer team took two games from the University of Miami. Gearrin saved both of those games, going three innings and striking out six without allowing a hit.

Gearrin was a first team all-conference selection after leading the Atlantic Sun with 13 saves.
