Preseason Atlantic Sun favorite Gardner-Webb scored a marquee victory for the league with their 73-72 victory at Minnesota. All-Atlantic Sun choice Brian Bender scored a team-high 18 points in the win while the Bulldogs drained 12-of-20 three-point field goal attempts. The win, in conjunction with GWU's defeat of East Carolina last week, gives the Bulldogs their second power conference win of the year.

ETSU dominated new Conference USA member Marshall, easing to a 91-63 win at the Memorial Center. The Bucs shot .583 from the floor and saw five players reach double figure scoring. For the season, ETSU is averaging 86.3 points per game over their first three outings. With the win, the A-Sun improved to 2-1 versus C-USA early in the season.
