Thursday, December 01, 2005

An exciting opening week of Atlantic Sun Conference play continued on Thursday night with a trio of league games.

Josh Goodwin hit an A-Sun record 11 three-pointers to rally Belmont past preseason tournament favorite ETSU in overtime despite trailing by eight points with just 42 seconds remaining in regulation. Campbell ended their 25-game losing streak with an 84-70 victory over visiting Stetson. Meanwhile, Kennesaw State dropped Lipscomb 67-66 in their first ever A-Sun contest.

Three of the league's first four games have been decided by one basket or in overtime.

The opening tip continues on Friday night as intra-city rivals Jacksonville and UNF begin the River City Rumble live as the CSS/A-Sun Game of the Week at 7:30 pm.
