Mercer and Stetson each took a step closer to securing a berth in the 2006 General Shale Atlantic Sun Championship with a pair of road upssets on Saturday.

Gabe McMillen calmly buried a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds remaining in overtime to help lift the Hatters past a red-hot ETSU squad who had won 10 of their last 11 games.

The Bears overcame intra-state rival and league leading Kennesaw State behind five players in double figures. Jacob Skogen finished with 15 points to pace Mercer who won their second straight game.
