NASHVILLE, TENN. - - Major conference powers and local rivals highlight Belmont University’s men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming 2006-2007 season. The Bruins, who return six of their top seven leading scorers from last year’s Atlantic Sun Championship squad, open their campaign as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament.

Belmont plays reigning Colonial Athletic Association Champion UNC-Wilmington Monday, November 13th at Nashville’s Gaylord Entertainment Center. With the NIT adopting a doubleheader, common site format, the Bruins face defending SEC East Champion Tennessee or Fordham the following night.

Belmont’s busy November continues as it confronts the first of a home-and-home series with IUPUI, pegged by many publications as the team to beat in the Mid-Continent Conference.
