Heroics Help Lift ETSU's Pigram to A-Sun POTW

MACON, Ga. – In a week full of outstanding individual performances, ETSU guard Courtney Pigram claimed A-Sun Player of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The sophomore drilled the game-winning three-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining versus Chattanooga to lift ETSU past their long-time rival.

In that game, Pigram netted a career-high 29 points and buried seven three-pointers in 41 minutes of action. On Sunday, the Memphis, Tenn., native continued his impressive start with a game-high 19 points in the Bucs’ near upset of Auburn. In that game, the Bucs saw an 11-point second half lead vanish.

For the week, Pigram averaged 21.0 points, hitting on 47 percent from 3-point range (14-of-30), while also picking up six steals, eight assists and eight rebounds. He currently is tied for the A-Sun lead in 3-PT FG’s per game (4.25) while ranking second in points per game (19.0). His 29-point effort versus UTC is the top scoring performance in the conference this season. Pigram majors in Sports Management.

The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006-07 men’s basketball campaign.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
