Stetson Welcomes FSU to Packed Edmunds Center

DELAND, Fla. -- A near-capacity crowd at the Edmunds Center was not enough Tuesday night as Florida State handed Stetson an 82-63 defeat in the A-Sun Game of the Week. The Seminoles, fresh off an upset of Florida on Sunday, held off the Hatters and 4,652 rambunctious fans who made up the largest crowd in the Edmunds Center's current configuration. "For our size school and our size town, I'd put our crowd up against anybody," said Head Coach Derek Waugh.

Stetson quickly dug a hole. The Seminoles scored the game's first seven points and looked to turn the game into an early route. However, the Hatters retalliated with a 10-0 run, capitalized by Garfield Blair's three-point play with 14:02 to go in the first half. Florida State soon recovered, reeling off 11 straight points to go ahead 18-10 and never again relinquished the lead.

"Florida State is a very good team, " said Waugh. "I thought they were definitely ready to play tonight and I think they took advantage of every error we made."
