Camels Eclipse Century Mark in A-Sun Game of the Week

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Eric Smith led five Camels in double figures with a season-high 24 points and Campbell defeated Radford 101-88 Monday night in the A-Sun Game of the Week at Carter Gym.

Jonathan Rodriguez added 17 points – 15 in the second half – plus 15 rebounds and five assists for the Fighting Camels (4-4), who ended a four-game losing streak by winning their fourth home game in as many tries this year.

Ruell Pringle added 14 points and five assists, Stephon Griffin had a career-best 12 points and Russ Gibson chipped in 10 for the Camels, who passed the 100-point mark for the third time at home this year.

Reggie McIntyre led Radford (5-7) with 24 points and seven rebounds. Chris Oliver had 22, Kenny Thomas 17 and Martell McDuffy 11 for the Highlanders, who shot 53 percent from the field, but turned the ball over 23 times.

Campbell held a 40-29 edge on the glass and claimed a 20-8 advantage in second-chance points. The Camels scored 24 points off Radford’s 23 turnovers. In last month's 87-80 Highlander win at Radford, Va., RU claimed a 50-38 rebounding edge and the Camels made just 3 three-point field goals.
