Thursday, February 08, 2007 A sell-out crowd is expected at Allen Arena as Belmont looks to avenge an earlier loss to arch-rival Lipscomb in the A-Sun/CSS Game of the Week. Scheduled for a 7:30 ET tip-off, the game will be called by Matt Stewart and Sonny Smith. Lipscomb leads the storied series, 67-47, though Belmont has won five of the eight meetings during the NCAA Division-I era. Lipscomb won this year’s first encounter at a soldout Curb Event Center, 55-50. The two teams combined for 10-of-50 three-point shooting, but a nine minute field goal drought for Belmont late first half-early second half hindered the home cause. Sophomore Henry Harris scored a then career-high 13 points for the Bruins. The Bruins have won three straight games, including road wins this past week over Stetson and Mercer. Though Belmont made just 14-of-48 three-point field goal attempts during the road trip, timely long distance shots from sophomore Andy Wicke and the interior play of senior Boomer Herndon carried the Bruins to victory. The Bisons are on a mission to re-establish their homecourt dominance after a loss to ETSU. Lipscomb’s defense controlled Belmont in the last game as Eddie Ard starred on both ends of the court. Don't forget to catch the pre-game action as Stewart and Smith host This Week
