NASHVILLE, TENN. - Belmont University senior Justin Hare added to his lengthy and distinguished list of accolades Tuesday, as he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America University Division Men’s Basketball First Team.

The Cleveland, Tenn. native received Academic All-District honors for a third consecutive year earlier this month. Hare, who sports a 3.87 GPA in his major of exercise science and health promotion, plans to attend medical school upon graduation.

Among his numerous on-court honors, Hare is a two-time Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament MVP and 2007 First Team All-Atlantic Sun player. Moreover, the 6-2 guard was one of 25 players named to the Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team by CollegeInsider.com . This season, Hare fortified his credentials as a clutch performer by sinking the game-winning shot in Belmont's 85-83 victory at Alabama Nov. 19. All told, Hare in the final seconds has provided the game-winning or game-tying shot 14 times over his career.
