11 Days of A-Sun Men's Basketball: Jacksonville

MACON, Ga. - Each day from Oct. 29th through Nov. 12th, the Atlantic Sun Conference will preview the upcoming 2010-11 men's basketball season with 11 Days of Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball. Today, we talk with Ayron Hardy, a senior all-conference forward for the Jacksonville Dolphins.

Top Returning Scorer: Ayron Hardy, Senior Forward – One of two seniors on the 2010-11 squad, Hardy returns for the Dolphins after averaging 9.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. His point production ranked third on the team, while his rebound average ranked second and steals were tops on the team. On 16 occasions, Hardy registered double-digit points, while his top-point outing of the season came in a 79-73 home victory against the Lipscomb Bisons in which he connected for 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and was a perfect 3-for-3 behind the arc.

Season Opening Game: Jacksonville at Miami, Nov. 12th at 7 p.m. - The Dolphins open the season with a trip to Coral Gables, Fla. in a faceoff with the Miami Hurricanes of the Atlantic Coast Conference. After dropping the past two season openers, Jacksonville returns three starters and Dolphins Head Coach Cliff Warren brings in seven newcomers to the team. Miami finished last season at 20-13 and 4-12 in conference play with a 12-4 home mark.

Conference Game to Watch: Jacksonville at ETSU, Feb. 11th at 7 p.m. – The Dolphins and Buccaneers each claimed a share of the Atlantic Sun Regular Season Title, but the Bucs came away with the season series between the two schools with a 93-70 victory at ETSU and a 64-62 win at Veterans Memorial Arena. After falling in the A-Sun Championship semifinals to Mercer, Jacksonville went on to upset Arizona State in the NIT First Round with a 67-66 triumph.
