MACON, Ga. - Each day from Oct. 29th through Nov. 12th, the Atlantic Sun Conference will preview the upcoming 2010-11 men's basketball season with 11 Days of Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball. Today, we talk with Mike Smith, a senior all-conference guard for the ETSU Buccaneers. Roster Schedule 2010 Season Statistics 2010 Season Results Top Returning Scorer: Tommy Hubbard, Senior Guard – The top returning scorer and rebounder for the Bucs, Hubbard enters the season as a preseason all-conference team member after producing 13.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game last year. A 2010 All-Tournament honoree, Hubbard tallied 14 points in the A-Sun Championship Final against Mercer, while playing in all 40 minutes. The 6-4 senior guard also raked in 13 double-doubles last season with his last coming against Mercer in the regular season when he scored 24 and added 12 boards. Season Opening Game: ETSU at Kentucky, Nov. 12th at 7 p.m. - After capturing the A-Sun Championship for the second-straight season, ETSU returns four starters as well as Mike Smith, who missed all but four games of last season with a knee injury, from a squad that went 20-15 overall and 13-7 in conference play. The Buccaneers open the 2010-11 season with the same opponent they faced last season in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats went undefeated last season at Rupp Arena, but only return one starter from the 2009-10 squad that went to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Conference Game to Watch: Lipscomb at ETSU, Jan. 21st at 7 p.m. – Two of the most exciting games in the A-Sun last season were played between Lipscomb and ETSU as both teams utilized last-second shots to split the season series. In the first game of two, ETSU went into Allen Arena and Jarvis Jones hit a three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left on the clock to give the Bucs a 71-69 triumph. Only nine days later, Lipscomb exacted its revenge with a 85-84 overtime win in which the Bisons’ Jordan Burgason nailed a shot with four seconds left to lift Lipscomb to the win.
