Thursday, December 02, 2010 MACON, Ga. - For the third straight season, Atlantic Sun basketball conference play begins before the Christmas holiday with seven contests on both the men's and women's side slated for the weekend. Three Thursday matchups begin the 20-game conference season. Mercer travels to Belmont, Stetson begins a weekend in Jacksonville against the Dolphins while FGCU takes on UNF all as doubleheaders. On Saturday, the Bears stay in Nashville to face Lipscomb while Stetson and FGCU swap River City opponents. On the women's side, two of the league's preseason favorites, ETSU and USC Upstate meet at the renovated Hodge Center. The Buccaneer and Spartan men square off on Sunday.
