MACON, Ga. – ETSU’s Adam Sollazzo used late-game heroics and UNF’s Parker Smith lit up two power-conference opponents to earn the Atlantic Sun’s Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week awards, respectively, the conference announced on Tuesday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Adam Sollazzo, ETSU (Guard – Jr. – Tampa, Fla. – Business)

  • First A-Sun Player of the Week award.
  • Sollazzo led the Bucs in scoring over the last week, averaging 16 points a game.
  • Also led the Bucs with 4.5 assists per contest.
  • His efforts included a game-winning layup with less than four seconds left against Mercer.
  • ETSU was 2-0 for the week, as he shot an impressive 75 percent from the field (12-of-16).

OTHER NOMINEES:

  • Torrey Craig (Fr., USC Upstate) – Scored a career-best 25 points at Kennesaw State and a team-high 12 points in Upstate’s upset bid at Virginia Tech. Craig also finished the game against the Owls with seven rebounds.
  • Kelvin McConnell (Sr., Kennesaw State) –Drained four three-point baskets during a 9-for-14 shooting performance on Monday night, scoring 23 points to help lead the Owls past USC Upstate.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Parker Smith, UNF (Guard – So. – Gainesville, Fla. – Education)

  • First A-Sun Newcomer of the Week award.
  • Averaged nearly a point per minute (23.0 PPG in 25 MPG) in contests against BCS programs Maryland and No. 17 Kansas State.
  • Shot 14-for-24 (58.3 FG Pct) from the floor including a 12-for-21 (57.1 3-pt FG Pct) performance from the 3-point line
  • Posted back-to-back 20-pt scoring games with 21 against the Terrapins and then a UNF career best 25 against the Wildcats.
  • Leads the Ospreys with nine double-digit scoring performances this season including a pair of 20+ outings.

OTHER NOMINEES:

  • Aaron Anderson (So., Kennesaw State) – Pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds (most by any Owl this year) to go along with seven points in the Owls’ 78-71 victory against USC Upstate.
  • Eric Griffin (Jr., Campbell) –Averaged 14 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in a pair of games. Registered his first career double-double at ETSU with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
