Saturday, January 08, 2011 BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell went a 20-3 run midway through the second half and defeated Kennesaw State 65-52 Friday night in Atlantic Sun Conference men's basketball action. After starting the game just 1-of-17 from the floor, the Camels made 23-of-46 the rest of the way - including 59 percent in the second half - and ended a 3-game losing streak. Amir Celestin led four Campbell (8-6, 2-3 A-Sun) players in double figures with 13 points, plus 5 assists. Preston Dodson added 12 points, plus 9 rebounds, while Marvelle Harris and Eric Griffin chipped in 11 apiece. Kennesaw State (3-12, 1-4) dropped its second-straight game and lost for the 12th time in 13 games since beating Georgia Tech 80-63 on Nov. 15. Aaron Anderson led the Owls with 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting, plus 15 rebounds. Markeith Cummings contributed 16 on 5-of-15 shooting and Kelvin McConnell had 10. Spencer Dixon, who entered the contest as the A-Sun's 4th leading scorer at 15.8 points per game, finished with just two points on 1-of-6 shooting. |
