Belmont Second in Division I on NABC Honors Court List

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Belmont's men's basketball team ranked second in all of Division I with five Bruin senior and junior student-athletes on the 2011 NABC Honors Court List. Belmont only trailed the University of Denver with eight.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the highest achieving student-athletes in college basketball, and adds to the lofty academic tradition of the Belmont men's basketball program.

Recent graduate Jon House and rising seniors Adam Barnes, Drew Hanlen, Mick Hedgepeth and Scott Saunders represented Belmont on this year's NABC Honor Court.

To qualify for the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must:

1.Be a junior or senior of academic standing.
2.Hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year.
3.Have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4.Be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution.
