A-Sun Men's Basketball Season Previews: Stetson Hatters

MACON, Ga. - The 2011-12 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Basketball Season gets underway on Friday, Nov. 11th and prior to that date the A-Sun office will preview each of the ten member institutions.

The Stetson Hatters kick off the preview series as Hatter Vision Broadcaster Bill Topping chats with new head coach Casey Alexander and junior guard Joel Naburgs.

Notes:
• Casey Alexander takes over as head coach after spending the past 16 years working the sidelines at Belmont as an assistant and associate head coach, where he helped the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament in four of the past six seasons.
• Stetson's top returning scorers are juniors Tyshawn Patterson (8.3 PPG) and Joel Naburgs (7.8; PPG). Patterson shot 43.9 percent from the field last season, while Naburgs added 3.2 rebounds each outing.
• The Hatters will be looking to return to the General Shale Brick Basketball Championship this season after missing out the past two years. Stetson reached the conference tournament every year from 2006-09.
• Ten of the first 12 games for Stetson are played within the state boundaries of Florida, which includes match-ups with Florida State, Florida and UCF. The Hatters' first two conference games (ETSU and USC Upstate) will be played in the Edmunds Center.
