MACON, Ga. - ETSU's Marcus Dubose and Lipscomb's Zavion Williams capped their weeks by claiming the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Weekly honors. Dubose helped the Buccaneers to a 70-69 win at Atlantic 10 foe, Charlotte, with his game-high 26 points, while Williams' 28 points guided the Bisons to a win vs. SIU Edwardsville and eventual Cancun Challenge Mayan Division Title.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Marcus Dubose, ETSU (Jr. – Guard – Hartsville, S.C. – Business)
- First Career Player of the Week award
- Scored a game-high 26 points at Charlotte on 9-of-17 shooting
- Grabbed four rebounds and added two steals in dramatic 70-69 victory
- Currently leads Bucs in scoring (17.8 PPG) and ranks second in A-Sun
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Jordan Burgason (Sr., Lipscomb) – Averaged 18.5 PPG in his first two games of the season; hit 11 three-pointers
- Justin Cecil (Sr., Mercer) – Named All-Tournament Team of CBE Classic; tied CBE game record with seven three-pointers vs. Niagara
- Spencer Dixon (Sr., Kennesaw State) – Poured in 26 points vs. South Carolina State; added 10 vs. Reinhardt
- Parker Smith (Jr., North Florida) – Had 16 points in win vs. Jackson State with a perfect 5-of-5 from behind-the-arc
- Torrey Craig (So., USC Upstate) – Helped Spartans to two wins and program's best start in the Spartans Division I era at 5-2
- Russell Powell (Jr., Jacksonville) – Dished out career-high 10 assists vs. No. 16 Marquette; amassed 15 points at No. 9 Florida

- First Career Newcomer of the Week award
- Tallied 28 points vs. SIU Edwardsville; most points by a Lipscomb freshman since 2002

- Added seven points vs. Sacred Heart to help Bisons to Mayan Division title

- Delbert Love (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Totaled back-to-back career-highs in points with 16 vs. Reinhardt and 22 vs. South Carolina State
- Chris Perez (So., Stetson) – Registered a team-high 20 points vs. No. 9 Florida; 16 coming in the second half
- Travis Wallace (So., North Florida) – Posted back-to-back 11-point games vs. Wright State and Jackson State
