MACON, Ga. - ETSU's Adam Sollazzo and USC Upstate's Jodd Maxey captured the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Weekly Honors, announced Tuesday by the league office. Sollazzo helped the Buccaneers to a sweep of the River City, while Maxey missed only two field goals to help set the Spartans set a program win record.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Adam Sollazzo, ETSU (Sr. – Guard – Tampa, Fla. – Business)
- Second Career Player of the Week award
- Averaged 19.5 PPG, 6.0 APG, 5.5 RPG and 2.0 SPG in 2-0 week for Bucs
- Hit game-winning free throw at North Florida in 64-63 contest; finished with 21 points
- Two wins on the weekend gave ETSU the program's 1200th win all-time
- Led Bucs to 14-point win at Jacksonville on Saturday with 18 points
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Langston Hall (So., Mercer) – Tallied 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in rout of Kennesaw State
- Parker Smith (Jr., North Florida) – Posted back-to-back double figure games with 16 vs. USC Upstate and 12 vs. ETSU
- Keith McDougald (So., Jacksonville) – Helped to snap the Dolphins' losing streak with 13 points vs. UCS Upstate
- Drew Hanlen (Sr., Belmont) – Posted nine points, nine assists and eight rebounds vs. FGCU on Monday
- Torrey Craig (So., USC Upstate) – Averaged a double-double on the week at 17.0 PPG and 11.0 RPG
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Jodd Maxey, USC Upstate (So. – Forward – Statham, Ga. – Interdisciplinary Studies)
- First Career Newcomer of the Week award
- Posted career-high 15 points in overtime contests vs. Jacksonville with six rebounds
- Added 12 points, three rebounds in win at North Florida
- Victory at UNF pushed Spartans win total to 10, which is a program-best at D-I level
- Shot .846 percent from the field (11-of-13) on the week and .714 from the charity stripe
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Delbert Love (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Registered 10th double-digit game of the season with 10 points at Mercer
- Bernard Thompson (Fr., FGCU) – Posted first career double-double at Lipscomb with 10 points and 12 boards
- Travis Wallace (So., North Florida) – Tallied first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds vs. ETSU
- Evin Graham (Fr., Jacksonville) – Scored a career-high 10 points vs. ETSU; added career-high four assists vs. Upstate
