MACON, Ga. - USC Upstate's Torrey Craig and North Florida's Travis Wallace picked up the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Weekly Honors, announced Tuesday by the league office. Craig led the Spartans to back-to-back wins vs. Belmont and Lipscomb with a game-winning shot vs. the Bruins, while Wallace averaged 24.5 points on the week in two contests.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Torrey Craig, USC Upstate (So. – Forward – Great Falls, S.C. – Communications)
- Second Career Player of the Week award; second of the season
- Averaged 18.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG and 1.5 SPG in 2-0 week for the Spartans
- Hit game-winning shot vs. Belmont with 0.7 seconds to play for program's first win vs. Bruins
- Added double-double performance in win vs. Lipscomb with 14 points and 12 boards
- Spartans are first A-Sun team to post back-to-back wins vs Belmont and Lipscomb since Jan. 2010
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Adam Pegg (Jr., Stetson) – Averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds over two contests
- Aaron Anderson (Jr., Kennesaw State) – Averaged a double-double with 14.0 PPG and 14.0 RPG in three contests
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Travis Wallace, North Florida (So. – Forward – Marietta, Ga. – Electronic Media)
- Third Career Newcomer of the Week award
- Posted career-high 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting in win at Kennesaw State
- Added 20-point game vs. Mercer with four rebounds and two blocks
- Extended double-figure scoring stretch to seven-straight games
- Shot .645 percent from the field (20-of-31) and averaged 4.5 rebounds
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Delbert Love (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Dropped 26 pointds on the road at Charlotte and added 15 points vs. North Florida
- Brett Comer (Fr., FGCU) – Scored a season-high 24 points with seven assists in road win at Stetson
- Jodd Maxey (So., USC Upstate) – Notched a career-high 19 points in program's first ever win against Belmont
