MACON, Ga. - ETSU's Jarvis Jones hit a career-high with 36 points in the Buccaneers' win vs. Lipscomb, while also setting a new conference season-high for points to earn his first Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor. Jacksonville's Jarvis Haywood picked up his second career Newcomer of the Week after a strong 16-point game in a win vs. Stetson.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Jarvis Jones, ETSU (G – Sr. – Memphis, Tenn. – Sports Management)
- First Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; first for ETSU this season
- Poured in a conference season-high 36 points in OT win vs. Lipscomb
- Hit five three-pointers in the contest including three in overtime
- Added 23 points and six assists vs. Northern Kentucky on Thursday
- Averaged 29.5 PPG, 4.0 APG and picked up two steals
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Jodd Maxey (F, USC Upstate) - Scored career-high 26 points with 13 rebounds and six blocks vs. LU
- Chris Perez (G, Stetson) - Tallied a career-high 32 points at Jacksonville on 11 field goals
- Eshaunte Jones (F, Northern Kentucky) - Made a career-high seven three's en route to 25 points vs. ETSU
- Sherwood Brown (G, FGCU) - Led Eagles to a 2-0 week by averaging 19.5 PPG and 8.0 RPG
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Jarvis Haywood, Jacksonville (G – Fr. – Charlotte, N.C.)
- Second Career Newcomer of the Week honor; fourth-straight for JU
- Produced 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in win vs. Stetson
- Added 16 points and six rebounds in three-point loss vs. FGCU on Saturday
- Averaged 13.5 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.5 SPG on the week
- Dolphins now sit tied for third place in A-Sun at 7-4
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Lester Wilson (G, ETSU) - Averaged 13.5 PPG and 5.5 RPG in two Buccaneer contests
- Tyler White (G, Northern Kentucky) - Scored 13 points in NKU's win at USC Upstate with four rebounds
