MACON, Ga. - USC Upstate's Torrey Craig and FGCU's Bernard Thompson received the top honors in the 2013 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference team as Craig was tabbed the Player of the Year and Thompson earned the Defensive Player of the Year.

Following its NCAA Sweet 16 run, FGCU landed the top spot in the Preseason Coaches and Media Poll as well as three of the ten All-Conference spots with the Eagles' returning core of Thompson, Brett Comer and Chase Fieler earning the recognition.

Last year's A-Sun Regular-Season Champions, Mercer, holds down second in both polls narrowly behind FGCU. The Bears reached the NIT Second Round in 2013 following their CollegeInsider.com Tournament title in 2012. Langston Hall and Daniel Coursey were the Mercer representatives on the Preseason All-Conference squad.

USC Upstate, third in both polls, tied FGCU with three All-Conference selections as Crag was joined by Ty Greene and Ricardo Glenn on the 10-person team. Last season, the Spartans earned their first-ever win at the A-Sun Championship before falling in the semifinals to Mercer.

Senior Keith McDougald guides Jacksonville into the 2013-14 season as the Dolphins lone representative on the team as JU enters fourth in both preseason polls. Crosstown rival, North Florida landed in fifth by the coaches vote with senior Travis Wallace earning a slot on the preseason squad.

ETSU picked up the sixth spot in the Coaches Preseason Poll and fifth in the media poll, while Stetson landed at seventh in both polls. Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky and Kennesaw State rounded out the preseason projections.

For the third-straight season, the A-Sun had the fans participate in the Preseason All-Conference awards for the Preseason Player and Defensive Player of the Year.
