Smith, Merriweather Collect #ASunMBB Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Martin Smith and ETSU's A.J. Merriweather picked up the Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball weekly awards following their performances over the past seven days, announced Monday by the league office.

Smith averaged 21 points on the week, which included a 24-point effort against Tennessee Tech on a efficient 5-of-8 from the field and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. The junior forward continued his week with 18 points and six rebounds at Murray State in a close loss to the Racers.

Merriweather shined on the road for ETSU as the freshman scored 18 points at Austin Peay and Georgia Tech, while averaging nine rebounds for the two contests. The Jackson, Tenn. native shot 62.5 percent from the field on the week as ETSU went 1-1 away from home.
