Swartz Receives A-Sun Men's Runner of the Week Award

Macon, Ga. - Belmont rookie Caleb Swartz was named Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week today as announced by the conference office.

In his first collegiate meet at the Belmont Opener, the Radcliff, Ky. native finished fifth with a 5K time of 15:06.30. It was the highest finish by any Belmont freshman in his first meet since Issac Lafond's fifth place showing in 2002 Belmont Opener. Swartz helped the Bruins place second in the meet behind Mississippi State and was one of four Belmont runners to finish in the top-15. He is majoring in physics.

Swartz and the Bruins will be back in action Friday as they hit the road to compete in the Chattanooga Opener.

The Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2005 cross country season.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
