Macon, Ga. - Mercer junior Daniel Tanui (Nairobi, Kenya/Computer Information) was named Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week today by the conference office.

In Mercer's final meet before the A-Sun Championship, Tanui was the top finisher for the Bears, running the 8K in a time of 26:40 at the Georgia State Invitational. The Bears finished fifth just behind conference foe UNF and in a field that included Jacksonville State, Georgia State, Alabama State.

Campbell hosts the 2005 Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29.

The Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2005 cross country season.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
