UNF Rookie Earns First Runner of the Week Award

MACON, Ga. -- UNF's Fredrick Johansson was named Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week after beating his personal best time in the Auburn Invitational. Johansson placed 27th out of 166 runners in the 8K race, and posted a time of 25:03.66. The Ospreys finshed 10th out of 21 teams competing.

The freshman from Oja, Sweeden has finished in first place for the Ospreys inthe last two meets, leading the team to back-to-back top-10 finishes. He is majoring in Engineering.

The Ospreys will be back in action Oct. 7 when they compete in the FSU Invitational.

The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Athlete of the Week every Wednesday during the 2006 cross country season.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.
