Saturday, September 08, 2007 WILMINGTON, N.C.-Campbell University junior Verrelle Wyatt took his second straight individual cross country title, helping the men's team also claim a win at the Seahawk Invitational on the campus of UNC Wilmington. The Copley, Ohio native won the 5K men's race, coming in at 15:46, seconds ahead of UNCW's Jeff Naro at 16:09. Campbell's Jeff Klaves (third, 16:12.02), Ken Eichberg (fourth, 16:17.20) and Terence Attema (fifth, 16:22.61) also finished in the top five, while Stephen Licari Maciong (seventh, 16:34.81) and Jonathan Lawrence (ninth, 16:43.94) claimed top ten honors. As a team, the Camels scored 20 points to finish ahead of the Seahawks (55), East Carolina (72) and Pfeiffer (88) on the men's side. In the women's race, Clemson totaled 35 points, with East Carolina (39), UNCW (65), Campbell (85), Pfeiffer (146) and Mount Olive (190) rounding out the group. |
