Burley finishes strong for Second Award

MACON, Ga. - With less than three weeks until the 2008 Atlantic Sun Conference Cross Country Championships, Kennesaw State’s Scott Burley earned his second A-Sun Runner of the Week award of 2008, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

The Brockville, Ontario senior placed seventh out of 324 participants crossing the finish line with a time of 25:44.80 at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The chemistry major led the Owls to a fourth place finish out of 38.

The Owls will return to action when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., for one final meet on Saturday, October 18, before they compete in the conference championships on November 1.

James Jackson, USC Upstate (Freshman - Psychology - Aiken, S.C.) - Led the Spartans with a 27th-place overall finish in the Furman Invitational 8K with a time of 28:20; has finished first for the Spartans in each of their five meets this season.
