Wednesday, September 30, 2009 MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State’s Scott Burley picked up Atlantic Sun Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors by leading the Owls to a first-place finish in Saturday’s RunFit Inviational. Burley, a senior, finished third out of 152 men at Mercer’s RunFit Invitational in Macon, Ga. The native of Brockville, Ontario, earned the top spot among A-Sun runners, which included competitors from Kennesaw State and Mercer. A chemistry major, Burley led Kennesaw State to a first-place finish in the on the 8K RunFit Invitational course with a time of 26:54. With the first-place finish, the Owls moved into 12th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. After running four straight weekends, the Burley and the rest of the Owls take this coming weekend off. They return to competition on Saturday, October 10 at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic from Orlando, Fla. The Atlantic Sun Conference is an 11-member league committed to Building Winners for Life.
