MACON, Ga. – For his performance at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Scott Burley earned his fifth career Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Burley finished in second place at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic on Saturday, finishing the 8K course in 25:52.40, his best finish in 2009 and second-straight top-three finish (third, 9/26 RunFit Invitational). The senior, from Brockville, Ontario, led the Owls, to a first-place finish overall in the meet at 42 points. Freshman Nabil Hamid followed, good for a third place finish, in a race that featured 25 teams. Burley finished seventh in the same race last year.

The Owls run for the final time before the Atlantic Sun Championships, hosting the first annual KSU Owl Invitational, which will take place on Friday at Noonday Park in Kennesaw.
