Attema Wins Seahawk Invite; Weekly Award

MACON, Ga. – Campbell’s Terence Attema earned the Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week honors as the senior paced the Camels to a first-place finish at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational over the weekend. Attema, a native of Smithville, Ontario, crossed the finish line 31-seconds ahead of the second-place runner in a time of 18:36.16 in the 6K race. To go along with his victory at UNC Wilmington, Attema also finished as the runner-up at the USC Upstate Eye Opener meet to open the season.

RUNNER OF THE WEEK:
Terence Attema, Campbell (Sr. – Smithville, Ontario – Mathematics)
• Two-time A-Sun Runner of the Week winner
• Won the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational 6K competing against 79 runners
• Completed race in a time of 18:36.16 to lead Camels to a team victory at the meet
• Finished 31 seconds ahead of the second-place runner
• Took second place at last week’s USC Upstate Eye Opener meet

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Tim Muller (So., Lipscomb) – ran an 8K personal record of 26:03; finished 10th in race
