Kemboi Takes Second Weekly Honor of the Year

MACON, Ga. – After finishing third out of 323 runners at the Greater Louisville Classic, USC Upstate’s Gilbert Kemboi earned his second Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week award of the season, announced Wednesday by the league office. Kemboi’s time of 23:22.28 in the 8k race set a personal and school record and ranks as the top time of the season for all A-Sun harriers.

• Finished third out of 323 runners at the Greater Louisville Classic
• His time of 23:22.28 set a personal record and school record in the 8k
• The time is also the fastest time in the A-Sun this season
• Lowered his time in the 8k for the third time this season

OTHER NOMINEES
• Nathan Haskins (Sr., Kennesaw State) – took 14th place at the Greater Louisville Classic
• Erick Kigen (Fr., Belmont) – topped his previous best time by 40 seconds; 24:54.65
• Arego Cruz (Fr., FGCU) – broke the school record by three seconds with his time of 26:06
• Tim Muller (So., Lipscomb) – ran the second-best 8k time in school history in 24:51.81
