Witczak Takes Samford Title; Weekly Award

MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State’s Piotr Witczak picked up another award after finishing in first place at the Samford Invitational as the senior harrier earned Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. The Warsaw, Poland native finished the 8k race in 25:41 to lead the Owls to a first-place finish at the meet, which was run on the same course that hosts the NCAA South Region meet in November.

RUNNER OF THE WEEK:
Piotr Witczak, Kennesaw State (Sr. – Warsaw, Poland – International Affairs)
• First Career A-Sun Runner of the Week award
• Claimed Individual title at the Samford Invitational
• Ran the 8k course in 25:41 for his first career meet title
• Led the Owls to a first-place finish at the meet

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Argeo Cruz (Fr., FGCU) – broke the school record for the third consecutive meet
